Dodgers' Chris Hatcher: Agrees to one-year deal with Dodgers

The Dodgers agreed to a one-year, $1.065 million contract with Hatcher on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports. Sidelined for two months midseason due to a strained oblique, Hatcher salvaged the campaign with a spectacular stretch run, finishing with a 3.69 ERA, 1.231 WHIP, and 45:13 K:BB in 39 innings. Considering he also gathered four saves and 11 holds along the way, he should be considered for late-inning work this season by new manager Dave Roberts.

Dodgers RP Pedro Baez losing setup role to Chris Hatcher

It seems that Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez has pitched his way out of setup duties. He has allowed eight runs in his last eight appearances and appears to have lost the eighth inning role to Chris Hatcher. Baez does have a 9:0 K:BB in those eight innings, so his control is fine. Still, he'll need to learn to command his pitches in and out of the zone better to move back into a more prominent bullpen gig.
