      Brewers sign Josh Roenicke to minor league deal

      The Brewers signed RHP Josh Roenicke to a minor league contract, the team announced on Thursday. Roenicke has appeared in 190 MLB games since 2008, for the Blue Jays, Reds, Rockies and Twins. He has posted an 8-3 career record with two saves and a 4.17 ERA. Roenicke split last season between the Nationals' and Rockies' Triple-A franchises. He is the nephew of Brewers manager Ron Roenicke.

      Josh Roenicke added to Rockies Triple-A club

      The Rockies have signed pitcher Josh Roenicke to a minor-league deal and will assign him to Triple-A Colorado Springs Tuesday, reports. Roenicke has yet to pitch in the majors this season. He had a 5.45 ERA in 79 1/3 innings with the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse.

      Nationals send six players to minors

      The Nationals optioned outfielder Michael Taylor and starting pitcher Matt Purke to Double-A Harrisburg Thursday. The Nationals also reassigned pitcher Clay Hensley, pitcher Josh Roenicke, pitcher Daniel Stange and pitcher Danny Rosenbaum to minor-league camp.

      Report: Josh Roenicke on radar of several teams

      A "handful" of teams have shown an interest in signing free agent right-handed reliever Josh Roenicke, according to SB Nation, which has further reported that a deal could be done soon. Roenicke, who has never started a game in 190 career appearances, managed a 3-1 mark with a 4.35 ERA with Minnesota in 2013. He has struggled with his control throughout his career with 117 walks in 220 1/3 innings.

      Twins remove four from 40-man roster

      The Twins outrighted outfielder Clete Thomas and pitchers Cole De Vries, Josh Roenicke and Shairon Martis off the 40-man roster Wednesday. Thomas hit .214/.290/.307 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 290 at-bats with the Twins this season. De Vries went 0-2 and gave up 18 earned runs in 15 innings over four appearances (two starts) with the major-league team. Roenicke went 3-1 with a 4.35 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 45:36 K:BB ratio in 62 innings over 63 appearances with the Twins. Martis made six relief appearances with the Twins, posting a 5.59 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB ratio in 9 2/3 innings while allowing three home runs on six hits.

      Josh Roenicke picks up first save

      Twins reliever Josh Roenicke picked up his first save of the season Tuesday night in Houston. Roenicke came on in the 12th inning to close out a game that saw closer Glen Perkins blow the save in the ninth. Roenicke walked two batters but had a strikeout and was able to finish off the 9-6 win. He needed 25 pitches and his ERA is at 2.91 on the year. The reliever is 3-1 this year over 57 appearances for Minnesota with 12 holds.

      Roenicke gets first big league save

      Rockies reliever Josh Roenicke picked up his first career save on Monday night in Arizona. Roenicke finished up the ninth inning for Josh Outman, who earned the win, but allowed some inherited runs to score. Roenicke gave up a hit and walked a batter with a strikeout for the save. His ERA is 3.26.
