Indians' Anthony Recker: Signs minor league deal with Indians

Recker signed a minor league contract with the Indians on Friday that includes an invite to spring training. He will offer organizational depth at catcher, likely beginning the year at Triple-A, as he will probably be behind Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez on the depth chart. Recker has a little pop, hitting 15 home runs in 432 plate appearances over the last three years with the Mets, but he is just a .185 hitter for his career.

Mets' Anthony Recker: Outrighted from 40-man roster

Recker was sent outright to Triple-A Las Vegas Thursday. Recker made 32 appearances with the Mets this season, but the back-up catcher failed to register at least 100 at-bats in a season for the first time since 2012. He has the option to enter free agency this offseason, but he's unlikely to garner much interest after submitting a .125/.239/.213 slash line in 80 at-bats this season.

Reserve C Anthony Recker gets start for Mets

After being recalled from Triple-A earlier in the week, catcher Anthony Recker will make a rare start behind the plate and hit eighth for the Mets on Friday, spelling everyday backstop Travis d'Arnaud. Recker has not appeared in a game since July 29, and he's in the middle of an 0-for-17 skid that has lowered his batting average to a miniscule .123. Recker has just one hit in 26 at-bats at Citi Field this season.

Mets option C Kevin Plawecki to Triple, recall C Anthony Recker

The Mets optioned catcher Kevin Plawecki to Triple-A Las Vegas following their 4-0 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Plawecki saw his playing time dwindle with the return of Travis d'Arnaud from the disabled list. The Mets are poised to increase d'Arnaud's work load down the stretch, so they opted to get Plawecki more regular playing time down at Triple-A. The Mets are recalling Anthony Recker to serve as d'Arnaud's backup, according to

Mets catcher Anthony Recker was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas following the 8-7 loss to the Padres on Thursday. Recker had been the back-up to Kevin Plawecki, who will likely be the back-up to the returning Travis d'Arnaud. Recker is batting .123 with a pair of home runs with the Mets in 2015.

      Mets send down Anthony Recker

The Mets sent catcher Anthony Recker to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday. Recker hit .143 with two home runs for the Mets this year. The Mets chose to send him down and keep catcher Kevin Plawecki. "It was a chance to keep Kevin here and get him some playing time," manager Terry Collins said, per ESPN. "One of the things that's really important for Reck is when he plays, he's dangerous. He's just got to get some at-bats. So this is an opportunity for him to go to Triple-A and get some at-bats, and hopefully find his swing and get back here and help out."

Anthony Recker spells Kevin Plawecki behind plate for Mets

For the second time in three games, Anthony Recker will replace Kevin Plawecki in the Mets' starting lineup at catcher. Recker will get his 14th start on Friday night and bat eighth in the lineup. While Plawecki has 30 starts behind the plate, the two catchers have split the last six games. Plawecki is out of Friday's lineup because he's suffering from vertigo-like symptoms, ESPN reported. He had a similar problem last year at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Mets' Mayberry and Recker in lineup, Cuddyer and Plawecki out

Mets outfielder John Mayberry and catcher Anthony Recker will start in Sunday's game against the Marlins. Mayberry is starting in place of Michael Cuddyer and Recker is in the lineup for Kevin Plawecki. Recker is hitting .161 this season and Mayberry is batting .152. Both Cuddyer and Plawecki appear to be getting days off. Mayberry is hitting sith and Recker is batting eighth.
