    • Wallace among Cards' early cuts

News: The St. Louis Cardinals reassigned C Tony Cruz, C Luis De La Cruz, 3B David Freese, LHP Brad Furnish, RHP Shaun Garceau, RHP Tyler Herron, C Steven Hill, C Justin Knoedler, LHP Katsuhiko Maekawa, LHP Ian Ostlund, RHP Francisco Samuel and 3B Brett Wallace to minor league camp.
Analysis: Wallace thrived in his first year in the Cardinals system last year, working his way up to Double-A with a .957 OPS. The organization will obviously need to see more from the 22-year-old before making any long-term plans with him, but he could eventually replace Troy Glaus as the team's starting third baseman. Even though Glaus might not be ready for the start of the season, Wallace won't be considered an option out of spring training after he was sent to minor league camp in early March. Freese is a decent third base prospect, too, but the rest of these guys are nothing more than organizational depth at this point. Ignore them in all Fantasy leagues right now.
    • Jay among Cards spring invites

News: The Cardinals invited 3B Allen Craig, 3B Brett Wallace, 3B David Freese, C Bryan D. Anderson, C Luis De La Cruz, C Matt Pagnozzi, C Steven Hill, C (Tony) Arnoldi Cruz, OF Colby Rasmus, OF Jonathan Jay, SP Jesse Todd, SP Mitchell Boggs, SP Blake Hawksworth, RHP P.J. Walters, RHP Tyler Herron, RHP Adam Ottavino, RHP Clayton Mortensen, RHP (Fernando) Noel Salas and RHP Francisco Samuel to spring training.
Analysis: Rasmus, Wallace, Freese, Anderson, Jay, Todd, Boggs, Hawksworth, Walters and Mortensen are prospects worth considering in long-term keeper leagues -- and deeper formats if they look like they could make the roster. The rest of these players are nothing more than organizational depth at this point. Ignore them in all Fantasy leagues right now.
    • Brazelton among Cardinals cuts

News: The Cardinals reassigned 10 players to minor league camp Monday: RHP Mitchell Boggs, RHP Dewon Brazelton, LHP Jaime Garcia, RHP Adam Ottavino, RHP P.J. Walters, RHP Tyler Herron, RHP Stuart Pomeranz, C David Carpenter, C Nick Derba and C Brandon Yarbrough. They now have 57 players in camp, which doesn't include Juan Encarnacion (eye), who is out for the season and perhaps for his career after being hit by a pitch last year.
Analysis: Brazelton is a bust of a former No. 1 pick by the Rays. The rest of these players are nothing more than organizational depth and can be ignored in all Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.
