    Braves release Dusty Hughes

    The Braves have released pitcher Dusty Hughes, the club announced Friday. Hughes allowed 11 runs (nine earned) in 12 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett. He last appeared in the majors in 2011 for Minnesota.

    Braves chop down roster

    The Atlanta Braves announced their latest wave of cuts Friday and moved the following players to their minor-league camp: Joe Terdoslavich, Christian Bethancourt, Ernesto Mejia, Dusty Hughes and Adam Russell. "We're going to see [Terdoslavich] at Turner Field, and the same thing with Bethancourt," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez told MLB.com. "It's just a matter of them letting us know when they are ready."
