Once considered one of the Nationals top-hitting prospects, OF Michael Daniel was released on Monday. "He didn't develop," general manager Mike Rizzo told MLB.com. "It happens all the time. We felt it was time for him and us to turn the page and give him different opportunities [somewhere else]." Daniel batted just .179 with two RBI and 14 strikeouts in 20 minor league games this year.
Funny how baseball prospects turn out. Daniel was considered one of the best prospects for the Nationals two years ago, and now he is without a job. Hopefully he can find some place to play. Needless to say, Daniel does not have an Fantasy value.
