      The Angels announced Tuesday that they have selected the contract of Marc Krauss from Triple-A. Right-hander Ryan Mattheus was designated for assignment. Krauss, who came over from the Astros during the offseason on a waiver claim, has played 28 games for Triple-A this year, owning a .281 batting average with a pair of home runs and 17 RBI. Krauss is in the starting lineup on Tuesday, batting ninth and playing first base. Mattheus made just one appearance for the Angels this season, coming out of the bullpen on Saturday. He pitched a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out two.

      The Angels have selected the contract of pitcher Ryan Mattheus from Triple-A Salt Lake and, to make room, have sent down infielder Efren Navarro, the team has announced. In 11 relief appearances for Salt Lake, Mattheus went 0-1 with one save with a 2.84 ERA. Navarro hit .211 (4 for 19) with one double for the Angels this season.

      Angels option Carlos Perez, Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Salt Lake

      The Angels have optioned catcher Carlos Perez and outfielder Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Salt Lake, the team announced Saturday. Los Angeles traded for Robertson last November and he hit .256 with two doubles and six RBI in 43 plate appearances this spring. Perez hit .219 with two doubles and five RBI. The team also reassigned pitcher Ryan Mattheus to their minor league camp. He posted a 3.86 ERA with six strikeouts and two walks in 12 appearances this spring.

      The Angels have signed reliever Ryan Mattheus to a minor-league deal. The 31-year-old Mattheus will receive an invite to spring training with the deal. After emerging as a useful member of the Nationals bullpen in 2012, Mattheus hasn't been effective in the majors. He spent most of 2013 injured or in the minors, and was relegated to Triple-A for almost all of 2014. Mattheus has posted a 3.60 ERA over 142 1/3 career innings in the majors.
