    Brewers send five to minor-league camp Monday

    The Brewers sent outfielders Kentrail Davis and Mitch Haniger, infielders Hector Gomez and Taylor Green and pitcher David Goforth to minor-league camp after Cactus League action Monday. Davis went 1 for 9 with two walks in seven appearances, while Haniger went 5 for 10 with one home run, five RBI and one stolen base in seven games. Gomez went 3 for 7 with one home run, four RBI and one walk in nine games, while Green went 2 of 13 with three walks in eight games played. Goforth gave up five earned runs on three hits and four walks in 2 1/3 innings over two appearances.

    Taylor Green focusing on third base this spring

    Brewers first baseman Taylor Green will attempt to play third this spring, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Green is hoping shifting to third provides him with more of an opportunity to fit into the team's long term plans. Green has been up with the club a few times in his career, and has been used at second, third and first base. He was expected to compete for the first base job last season, but underwent surgery on his hip and missed the entire season. In 140 career at-bats, Green has hit .207/.266/.343 in the majors.

    Taylor Green invited to spring training with Brewers

The contract includes opt-out clauses which would come up should Green not make the majors with the Brewers by certain points.
