Marcos Mateo: Granted release from Padres
Mateo was granted his release from the Padres on Thursday as he intends to pitch in the Japanese Central League in 2016. Mateo made 51 total appearances in 2015 with the Padres and their Triple-A affiliate in El Paso, most notably working a 4.00 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 27.0 innings in the big leagues. With his release, the padres were able to add Ryan Buchter to the 40-man roster.

Padres active RP Marcos Mateo, recall RP Nick Vincent Tuesday
The Padres made a couple of roster moves on Tuesday. Right-handed reliever Marcos Mateo was activated from the disabled list. Mateo landed on the DL back on Aug. 8 due to a neck strain. Additionally, the Padres recalled right-hander Nick Vincent from Triple-A El Paso. This will be Vincent's fourth stint with the Padres this season, though he hasn't been up with the club since the end of June.
