    Padres active RP Marcos Mateo, recall RP Nick Vincent Tuesday

    The Padres made a couple of roster moves on Tuesday. Right-handed reliever Marcos Mateo was activated from the disabled list. Mateo landed on the DL back on Aug. 8 due to a neck strain. Additionally, the Padres recalled right-hander Nick Vincent from Triple-A El Paso. This will be Vincent's fourth stint with the Padres this season, though he hasn't been up with the club since the end of June.

    A neck strain has landed Padres reliever Marcos Mateo on the 15-day disabled list. The team has recalled left-hander Frank Garces from Triple-A El Paso to take his place. Mateo allowed three runs on four hits in one inning in his last appearance. His ERA has risen from 3.27 to 5.19 over the last six games in which he pitched.

Mateo has appeared in 44 major league games over his career. He signed a minor-league contract with the Padres in January. Mateo has a 5.04 ERA in 44 2/3 major league innings throughout his career.
