Blue Jays' Dan Schlereth: Signs minors deal with Blue Jays
Schlereth signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports. Schlereth made appearances in just three games for Triple-A Iowa of the Cubs organization last season before being released, but it appears the Blue Jays will give him another shot. He'll likely begin the season in Triple-A again this season, but could be a candidate for recall should some any bullpen arms get injured.

The Cubs released pitcher Daniel Schlereth on Sunday. Schlereth, who signed a minor-league contract in May, hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012. He gave up four runs (one earned) in three innings across three appearances with Triple-A Iowa while striking out three batters and issuing six walks.
