    Nationals looking under Hood

Despite missing a chunk of games last season due to nagging injuries, Washington outfield prospect Destin Hood continues to make an impression. Hood mustered just 99 games between Class A and Double-A last season and never seemed to settle into a rhythm while finishing with a .242 batting average and just three homers and 45 RBI. But the Nationals remain committed to his long-term growth. "Going to Double-A was a big jump for Destin, but he handled it pretty well," Harrisburg skipper Matt LeCroy told MASNSports.com. "He had a couple of setbacks in the season that kind of (slowed him) a little bit offensively. But at the end of the year, he finished up the way we wanted to finish up. He had really good at-bats, hitting the ball solid, hitting the ball to all fields."
