Brad Mills glad to be back with the Athletics

Athletics pitcher Brad Mills is glad to be back with the club, according to Mills spent time in Oakland last season, but was designated for assignment after spending a month with the club. That month was enough to convince Mills that he should return if the team showed interest in him again. "The few weeks I had here, I threw OK, but it was just such an enjoyable experience I wanted to have again," Mills said. "It just helps when I know the organization will give me a chance to start and trust me if they need me, and that's all I'm looking for." Mills said the Athletics reached out to him early in free agency, and that helped. "They reached out right off the bat and they obviously weren't messing around," Mills said. "I wasn't looking to mess around either. I wanted to know I had a job for the next year sooner than later, so it made it rather easy." Mills is expected to open the year in the minors, but could find his way into the rotation once the team needs help. Mills posted a 9.15 ERA over 20 2/3 innings last year.
