    Giants sell rights to Brett Pill to Korean team

    The Giants announced Friday that they have sold the rights to first baseman Brett Pill to the KIA Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization. Pill has agreed to a deal with the Tigers, pending a physical, which will take place after Christmas. He will remain on the Giants' 40-man roster until the deal is finalized. Pill hit .224/.272/.376 with three home runs and 12 RBI in 85 at-bats with the Giants last season and .344/.379/.630 with 18 home runs and 79 RBI in 276 at-bats with Triple-A Fresno.

    Brett Pill takes grounders at third base

    Giants first baseman Brett Pill has been taking grounders at third base to provide the team with insurance while Pablo Sandoval deals with a sore back, MLB.com reports. "Right now it's just to give us some coverage, a little depth in case something happens today," manager Bruce Bochy told MLB.com Wednesday. Pill, who appeared in Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter, has nine career appearances at third base in the minor leagues. He has continued to work in left field, and Bochy said that he wants Pill to practice more at the position before he gives him another start in left field.

    Brett Pill making a case for playing time

    Giants first baseman Brett Pill put together his second three-hit game in a row Wednesday, in a 9-2 win over the Phillies. Pill put up a monster stat line, as he finished the game 3 for 5 with a home run and four RBI. Pill drove in two runs in the first with a two-run single, added another RBI in the third with a single, and then capped off his day with a solo home run in the seventh. Pill is now hitting .278 with two home runs and seven RBI in 36 at-bats.

    The Giants will recall outfielder Roger Kieschnick and first baseman Brett Pill from Triple-A Fresno before Tuesday's game at Philadelphia, the San Francisco Chronicle reports Monday. No corresponding roster moves have been announced at this time. Kieschnick, 26, is batting .273 with 13 homers over 422 plate appearances with Fresno. He had previously been considered to not be ready to hit major league pitching by team management. Pill has already been up in the big leagues several times.     Giants make handful of roster moves

    The San Francisco Giants made a handful of roster moves Thursday, recalling catcher Hector Sanchez and reliever Jake Dunning, designating reliever Ramon Ramirez and optioning first baseman Brett Pill. Sanchez was hitting .320 in Triple-A and Dunning had a 1.75 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 36 Triple-A innings. Ramirez pitched 5 2/3 innings for the Giants out of relief, giving up seven earned runs.
