    Three Reds added to opening day roster

    The Reds have added outfielder Roger Bernadina , infielder Ramon Santiago and pitcher Trevor Bell to the opening day roster. All three players had their contracts purchased from Triple-A Sunday. Bernadina tore up spring ball, hitting .413 with three home runs. Bell posted a 1.04 ERA over 8 2/3 innings. Santiago didn't perform well at the plate, but is expected to be an asset with the glove at a number of infield spots.

    Tigers swipe players off roster

    The Detroit Tigers made a host of roster moves Tuesday, optioning pitchers Duane Below, Jose Ortega and catcher Bryan Holaday to Triple-A Toledo and optioning second baseman Hernan Perez to Double-A Erie. Detroit also reassigned outfielders Nick Castellanos and Tyler Collins, shortstop Argenis Diaz and pitcher Trevor Bell to its minor-league camp.
