      Rays reassign Everett Teaford, Brandon Gomes, six others

      The Rays reassigned pitchers Everett Teaford and Brandon Gomes to minor-league camp along with six other players, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Teaford and Gomes were in the mix for spots on the 25-man roster before being reassigned. The team also cut catcher Mayo Acosta, outfielders Corey Brown and Joey Butler and pitchers Jhan Marinez, Jim Miller and Jordan Norberto.

      The Rays signed catcher Mayo Acosta, outfielder Joey Butler, infielder Juan Francisco, right-hander Jhan Marinez and left-hander Everett Teaford all to minor-league deals, according to the team's official Triple-A website.

      Rays add four to 40-man roster, sign seven minor leaguers

      The Rays added infielder Vince Belnome and pitchers Jesse Hahn, C.J. Riefenhauser and Kirby Yates to the 40-man roster Wednesday, while also signing catcher Mayo Acosta and pitchers Mike Colla, Mark Lowe, Victor Mateo, Eduardo Quinonez, Sam Runion and Albert Suarez to minor-league contracts. Belnome hit .300/.408/.446 with eight home runs and 67 RBI in 444 at-bats with Triple-A Durham. Hahn went 2-1 with a 2.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 63:18 K:BB ratio in 67 innings over 19 starts with high Class A Charlotte. Riefenhauser went 6-1 with a 1.22 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 70:19 K:BB ratio in 73 2/3 innings between Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham. Yates went 3-2 with a 1.90 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 93:23 K:BB ratio in 61 2/3 innings with Triple-A Durham.
