Athletics' Marc Rzepczynski: Avoids arbitration with A's

Rzepczynski signed a one-year contract with the A's on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The A's acquired Rzepczysnki earlier Wednesday along with first baseman Yonder Alonso in exchange for Drew Pomeranz. While Rzepczysnki's final numbers from 2015 appear unsightly on the surface, he was the victim of bad luck -- he had a .381 opponents' BABIP and 53 percent strand rate. His 26 percent strikeout rate and 67.3 percent groundball rate from 2015 bode well for the future.
