Indians' Lonnie Chisenhall: Avoids arbitration, settles with CLE

Chisenhall and the Indians agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.8 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Centre Daily Times reports. Chisenhall endured an up-and-down 2015 campaign, finishing the season hitting .246 with nine home runs and 44 RBI in 106 games. He opened the year as the starting third baseman before being demoted to Triple-A in June. He returned later in the season, spending most of his time in right field, where he found success. Heading into 2016, he'll likely have a chance to take hold of a corner outfield role, but it's unlikely he opens the year as an everyday player.

Indians scratch Lonnie Chisenhall from lineup on Monday

Indians right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Twins. Chisenhall was removed from Saturday's contest with a hamstring issue, but was able to return Sunday. The late scratch is more likely a result of a late pitching change for the Twins, as they'll now turn to the left-handed Tommy Milone, so manager Terry Francona is electing to go with the right-handed Ryan Raburn in his stead.

Indians third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall is out of the lineup Saturday against the White Sox.
