      Rays ink Jonny Venters to two-year minor-league deal

      The Rays signed former Braves reliever Jonny Venters to a two-year minor-league contract. Venters is coming off his third Tommy John surgery in September. Venters, who was an All-Star in 2011, hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012. He is 15-10 with a 2.23 ERA over three MLB seasons.
