      Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson has been a valuable part of the team for the past few seasons, given his blazing speed, but with the recent injury to Alex Gordon, he will get another shot to prove himself as an everyday player, per the Topeka Capital-Journal. Dyson, who is hitting .257 with nine RBI and 11 steals, will be the primary replacement as Gordon recovers from a groin strain. His defensive ability is unquestioned, but he will have to hit some to offset the loss of one of the team's best producers in the lineup. "It's hard to fill his big shoes," Dyson said. "So I'll just try to do the best I can to make plays and do whatever I can do to help the team win."

      Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain returned from his two-game suspension on Wednesday. He was in the starting lineup, batting third for manager Ned Yost. Cain was suspended for participating in the bench-clearing brawl with the White Sox that occured on April 23. Cain is batting .333 on the season with three home runs and 13 RBI. With Cain's return, Jarrod Dyson slides over to right field and Paulo Orlando was out of the lineup.
