      Buck Farmer, Rafael Dolis cut from Tigers' major-league camp

      The Tigers announced Thursday they optioned Buck Farmer to Triple-A Toledo. They also reassigned pitcher Rafael Dolis to minor-league camp. Manager Brad Ausmus said Farmer will stretch out as a starter at Toledo. "We think he has a very bright future," Ausmus said of the 24-year-old. "He's quite a bit ahead of schedule, if you look at his career path." Dolis is expected to end up in the bullpen at Toledo. "He actually has great stuff," Ausmus said. "He has a lot of movement on his fastball. He throws in the mid-90s with a good split. We were really considering him for a while."

      Giants re-assign 12 to minor-league camp

      Giants hand out 26 non-roster spring invites

      The Giants announced Monday they extended non-roster invitations to 26 players. They were 16 pitchers, four catchers, four infielders and two outfielders. The pitchers included prospects Clayton Blackburn, Tyson Blach and Kyle Crick. The remaining non-roster pitchers include Jason Berken, Brett Bochy, Jose Casilla, Rafael Dolis, J.C. Gutierrez, Chris Heston, Derek Law, Mitch Lively, Kameron Loe, Adam Reifer, Sandy Rosario, Dan Runzler and Mason Tobin. The position players included prospects Joe Panik and Mac Williamson. The other non-roster position players include Jeff Arnold, Guillermo Quiroz, Andrew Susac, Ben Turner, Chris Dominguez, Brandon Hicks, Mark Minicozzi and Javier Herrera.

      The Cubs outrighted six players off their 40-man roster, MLB.com reports Wednesday. Outfielder Darnell McDonald, catcher J.C. Boscan and pitcher Trey McNutt all cleared waivers and were outrighted. Additionally, pitchers Rafael Dolis and Zach Putnam and outfielder Thomas Neal were activated from the 60-day disabled list, cleared waivers and were outrighted.
