Mariners C Jesus Sucre hits first MLB home run in loss Saturday

Making just his 13th start behind the plate this season, Mariners catcher Jesus Sucre went deep for his first Major League home run on Saturday. The Mariners would go on to lose the game to the Blue Jays by a score of 8-6. Sucre's homer cut the Jays' lead to 3-2 in the second inning. It was his only hit of the game. Sucre had played 43 games prior to hitting the first longball of his career. And while the home run was nice, a win would have been nicer for Sucre. "It really feels good, but it could be better if we win the game," Sucre said, per "We play as a team, so all we want to do is win the game. We just couldn't do it. "I mean, all we want to do is win games. That's all we need. We tried to do our best, but it didn't happen today."
