      C Jordan Pacheco accepts assignment, headed to Triple-A

      Diamondbacks catcher Jordan Pacheco accepted his assignment to Triple-A on Friday and will report to the club's Reno team, per Pacheco was designated for assigment Saturday to make room for Jake Lamb and cleared waivers on Thursday. In 66 at-bats this season, the 29-year-old batted .242 with a pair of home runs.

Pacheco was desginated for assignment last week to make room for Jake Lamb, who returned from the disabled list. Pacheco can refuse the assignment and become a free agent, though a decision has yet to be announced.

      The Diamondbacks have designated catcher Jordan Pacheco for assignment, the team announced on Saturday. Pacheco never really got going with the bat in limited playing time this season. In 66 at-bats, the 29-year-old batted .242 with a pair of home runs. The move clears a roster spot for third baseman Jake Lamb, who was activated from the disabled list on Saturday.

      Diamondbacks add Welington Castillo to catcher rotation

      Welington Castillo is on the move again after the Diamondbacks acquired him in a six-player trade Wednesday that sent Mark Trumbo to the Mariners. Castillo was acquired by Seattle in a May 19 trade with the Cubs. Arizona was looking for some help at catcher after losing Tuffy Gosewisch to a torn ACL. Jordan Pacheco and Jarrod Saltalamacchia have handled the catching duties since Gosewisch got hurt last week. "Not that Salty's not the answer, but we really wanted to address that area. [Jake] Lamb's going to be coming off the disabled list pretty soon, so it's just going to create more of a logjam for us," Arizona general manager Dave Stewart said, per "With Yasmany [Tomas] swinging the bat as well as he is, it created a situation where we really needed to open up some space for him."

      Ender Inciarte returns to Diamondbacks lineup

      Ender Inciarte is returning to the Diamondbacks' lineup on Sunday in the series-finale against the Cubs. Inciarte had a day off on Saturday. He's hit just .250 over his past four games. Inciarte will bat leadoff. Yasmany Tomas has the day off and infielder Aaron Hill will play third base. Catcher Jordan Pacheco is back in the lineup Chris Owings will play second base.

      Diamondbacks C Tuffy Gosewisch gets breather on Wednesday

      After starting three straight games, and six of the last seven, Diamondbacks catcher Tuffy Gosewisch will get the day off on Wednesday against the Nationals. Jordan Pacheco will be the starting catcher and will bat seventh for manager Chip Hale. Gosewisch has been hitting well this month, batting .370 with four doubles and seven RBI nine games in May.

      Diamondbacks 1B Jordan Pacheco goes yard in sixth inning

      Diamondbacks first baseman Jordan Pacheco hit his second home run of the year in Tuesday's 11-1 loss to the Nationals. Pacheco was the only member of the Diamondbacks to score as he hit his solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning against Max Scherzer. This marks the sixth time in the past eight games that Pacheco has recorded a hit. Pacheco also extended his streak of not striking out to six games in a row. Pacheco finished the game 1 for 3 and is now hitting .250/.349/.417.

      Tuffy Gosewich, Chris Owings, Nick Ahmed out of Diamondbacks' lineup

      The Diamondbacks left three starters out of Saturday's starting lineup. Catcher Tuffy Gosewich sits, in place of Jordan Pacheco, who starts his fifth game and bats seventh in the lineup. Aaron Hill makes his fifth start of the year at second base, in place of Chris Owings. Hill has started twice in the last four games. He hits sixth in the order. Shortstop Nick Ahmed is out of the lineup as well. Cliff Pennington starts ahead of him for the third time this season and hits eighth.

      Diamondbacks catcher Jordan Pacheco went 2 for 4 with a three-run home run in his team's 9-1 win over the Rockies Wednesday. Pacheco smacked his first home run of the season as part of a five-run fifth inning that stretched his team's lead to 7-1. He's hit .250/.348/.400 with five RBI in 20 at-bats while seeing limited playing time.

      Diamondbacks' Jake Lamb, Tuffy Gosewisch out of lineup Sunday

      Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb and catcher Tuffy Gosewisch are not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants. Lamb batted second Saturday for the first time this season but is out of the lineup Sunday for just the second time in his last eight games.
