      Former Dodgers' first-rounder Aaron Miller retires

      Aaron Miller, selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2009 draft, has retired from baseball, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. Miller was selected 36th overall out of Baylor University and never made it above Double-A. Originally a pitcher, Miller coverted to a first baseman/outfielder in 2013. He finishes with a .259 average and 4.03 ERA.

      Dodgers prospect Aaron Miller has been moved from the mound to the outfield, according to MLB.com.Miller, who was an outfielder in college, was 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in his first season as a reliever at Double-A Chattanooga. He went 20-19 with a 4.03 ERA in his minor-league career as a pitcher."He was a two-way player coming out of Baylor when we drafted him, and we liked what we saw in his bat when he pitched." vice president for player development De Jon Watson said.       Miller begins season at Class A

      Dodgers SP prospect Aaron Miller made his first start of the season for Class A Rancho Cucamonga on June 3, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks in six innings during a loss. He made his previous two appearances in long relief. Miller is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.53 WHIP through 16 1/3 innings, striking out 15 and walking nine.
