      Athletics send 1B Nate Freiman to Triple-A after clearing waivers

      First baseman Nate Freiman was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville by the Athletics on Sunday after he cleared waivers, per Bay Area News Group. Freiman was designated for assignment on Thursday after the team acquired pitcher Cody Martin. He was hitting .171 at the Triple-A level during a rehab assignment. Freiman spent most of the year on the disabled list with a back injury.
