      Orioles call up four players from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday

      With the Triple-A season just about over, the Orioles recalled a handful of players from their affiliate in Norfolk on Tuesday. Right-handers Oliver Drake and Tyler Wilson join outfielder Junior Lake and infielder Christian Walker as September callups for the Orioles. Each player has spent time with the Orioles earlier this season, and will help fortify the roster down the stretch.

      The Orioles have recalled outfielder Junior Lake, first baseman Christian Walker and right-handers Tyler Wilson and Oliver Drake from Triple-A Norfolk, per the Virginian-Pilot. Wilson is the only one of the four that did not have a short stint with Baltimore earlier in the year. He is 5-5 with a 3.24 ERA this season with the Tides.

      The Orioles optioned outfielder Junior Lake back down to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday. Lake went 2 for 14 after being recalled last week, in his first stint with the Orioles. His demotion clears a spot for Henry Urrutia, who was recalled from Triple-A on Saturday.

      Orioles DFA Travis Snider, promote Junior Lake

      The Orioles have designated for assignment veteran Travis Snider and promoted fellow outfielder Junior Lake from Triple-A Norfolk, per Comcast. Snider tailed off after a strong run in June. He has seen limited playing time recently and is just 3-for-36 since July 1. Lake, who arrived in Baltimore via the Cubs last week, has also fallen on hard times after earning 544 at-bats over the past two seasons. He owns a slash line this year of .224/.274/.345. He is set to start as the designated hitter Friday night against the host Angels.

      Orioles trade RP Tommy Hunter to Cubs for OF Junior Lake

      The Orioles have traded right-handed reliever Tommy Hunter to the Cubs in exchange for outfielder Junior Lake. Hunter owns a 3.63 ERA in 44 2/3 innings of relief this season. He was formerly a starter, though he hasn't made a start since 2012. Lake has split time this year between the Cubs and Triple-A Iowa. He owns a .224 batting average in 21 games with the Cubs. He has the ability to play all three outfield positions. He will report to Triple-A Norfolk, acording to MLB.com.

      Cubs option LF Junior Lake to Triple-A, call up RP Brian Schlitter

      The Cubs have optioned left fielder Junior Lake to Triple-A Iowa and called up reliever Brian Schlitter in corresponding moves, Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald reports. Lake, who has been in and out of the Cubs' lineup, is hitting .224 with a home run and five RBI in 58 at-bats this season. Schlitter has a 1.12 ERA in 16 innings for the Iowa Cubs this season and will fill a void in the Cubs' bullpen.

      Cubs outfielder Junior Lake blasted a two-run home run in the sixth inning followed by a near-brawl between both benches in Wednesday night's 7-3 loss to the Marlins. As Lake crossed home plate, he and Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto exchanged words with one another. As they got into it, both Cubs and Marlins players came onto the field. However, no one threw any punches as the situation diffused quickly. Lake's homer was the first he's hit this season. He finished the game 1 for 5 and now has a slash line of .250/.286/.425.

      Cubs right fielder Junior Lake had two doubles in Tuesday's loss to Miami. Lake went 2 for 4 and drove in one of the team's two runs on the day. Lake now has four doubles and two RBI on the year.
