    RHP Evan Reed, 3B Don Kelly leave Tigers for free agency

    Tigers right-hander Evan Reed and third baseman/outfielder Don Kelly have declined their minor league assignments and have gained their free agency, per MLB.com. Reed yielded 39 hits in 32 1/3 innings while compiling a 4.18 ERA in 2014. Kelly managed a stat line of .245/.288/.332 and was held without a home run after averaging six the previous four seasons.

    Options on RHP Scherzer, DH Martinez among Tigers moves

The case was resolved Thursday when a judge dismissed all charges against Reed. Reed began the season with the big league club, but was sent to Triple-A in June. He has a 5.30 ERA over 18 2/3 innings.

    The police are investigating a sexual assault claim against Tigers pitcher Evan Reed, the Detroit News reports. Reed has not been charged with any crime and is currently on a road trip with the Tigers. "The organization is aware of the very serious allegation that has been made against pitcher Evan Reed," Tigers officials said via a statement released Monday night. "This allegation is concerning and we are aware of an ongoing investigation. It would be inappropriate for the ballclub to comment further at this time." Reed has pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in two appearances this season.
