      Lucas signed a minor league contract with the Mariners on Friday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports. Lucas, a veteran right-handed hitter, is a versatile infielder that has experience at all four infield spots. He spent last season at Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization, where he hit .316/.389/.420 with six home runs and 17 doubles. As Rosenthal points out, he could be a viable option in place of Adam Lind when the Mariners face left-handed pitching.
