    Angels release Carlos Ramirez

    The Angels have released catcher Carlos Ramirez, who has been suspended 100 games for a third positive test for a drug of abuse, Baseball America reports. Ramirez will likely have a tough time signing with another organization with his scheduled suspension on the horizon. He hit .206/.301/.400 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 155 at-bats with Double-A Arkansas last season.

    Carlos Ramirez suspended 50 games

    Angels' Double-A catcher Carlos Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games, according to the Los Angeles Times. Ramirez tested positive for a drug of abuse, which is different from a performance enhancing drug. It is the second time in his career that he was tested positive for a drug of abuse. Ramirez is 25-years-old, and has not advanced beyond Double-A. He is not considered a strong prospect.
