      Mets RP Jeurys Familia cleans up mess for 36th save Monday

      Mets closer Jeurys Familia gave up a run for the first time in a month, but he was able to seal the deal on the 3-1 victory over the Phillies on Monday. Familia allowed two hits and a walk to the first three men he faced in the ninth inning. But he was able to enduce a run-scoring double play and then struck out Andres Blanco to end the game. Familia recorded his 36th save of the season. Familia had strung together 16 consecutive scoreless outings prior to Monday's hiccup. He still owns a 1.78 ERA this season.

      It wasn't smooth sailing for Mets closer Jeurys Familia on Sunday, but he did enough to pick up his 35th save of the season to preserve a win over the Red Sox. Familia allowed two hits in the ninth inning of a one-run game, but struck out two hitters as well to close out the game. His ERA is now down to 1.67 and his ranks fourth in the NL in saves.

      Mets closer Jeurys Familia was strong on Tuesday, as he recorded a four-out save to protect the 6-5 win over the Phillies. Familia struck out a pair of batters, throwing 16 of his 17 pitches for strikes, as he collected his 34th save of the season. Despite a rough stretch right after the All-Star break, Familia sits fourth in the National League with his 34 saves, and he is in the midst of 13 consecutive scoreless appearances.

      Mets closer Jeurys Familia danced out of danger to record his 30th save of the season in Friday's 4-3 win over the Rays. Familia allowed the tying run to reach second base, but was ultimately able to squash the rally and close out the victory. Familia is the first Mets reliever to record at least 30 saves in a season since Francisco Rodriguez saved 35 games back in 2009.
