    Royals option Lamb, assign Manaea, Almonte to minor-league camp

    The Royals announced Friday starting pitcher John Lamb was optioned to minor-league camp. They also reassigned starting pitcher Scott Alexander, pitcher Miguel Almonte, starting pitcher Christian Binford, pitcher Chris Dwyer, catcher Zane Evans, catcher Cam Gallagher and starting pitcher Sean Manaea to minor-league camp, per The Kansas City Star. Manaea and Almonte are among the team's top 10 prospects, according to Baseball America.

    Two relievers accept minor league assignments from Royals

    The Royals have secured waivers on right-hander Blake Wood and lefty Chris Dwyer. Both have accepted assignments to Triple-A Omaha. The hard-throwing Wood pitched briefly for Cleveland earlier in the year. He compiled a 7.11 ERA in 6 1/3 innings.

    Royals announce September additions

    The Royals announced a slew of roster moves on Monday. The team selected the contracts of outfielder Carlos Peguero and left-hander Brandon Finnegan and recalled infielder Johnny Giavotella, catcher Francisco Pena, outfielder Lane Adams and right-hander Casey Coleman from the minors.     The Royals announced several roster moves Monday, which included sending top pitching prospect Kyle Zimmer to minor-league camp. Jason Adam, Aaron Brooks, Sugar Ray Marimon, Juan Graterol, Brandon Laird, Jorge Bonifacio, Gorkys Hernandez, Melky Mesa and Paulo Orlando were also reassigned to minor-league camp. The Royals also optioned Chris Dwyer to Triple-A Omaha, while optioning John Lamb, Cheslor Cuthbert and Lane Adams to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

    The Royals have recalled pitcher Chris Dwyer from Triple-A Omaha, MLB.com reports. Dwyer allowed a 3.55 ERA in 159 2/3 innings for Omaha and gives Kansas City another left-handed arm out of the bullpen for the stretch run.
