Mets' Duane Below: Signs minors deal with invite to spring training

Below signed a minor league contract with the Mets on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports. Below received a slight chance to earn a roster spot with the Mets last season, but failed to do so and ended up pitching part of the season for the team's Triple-A affiliate. He'll get another crack at it again in 2016 after posting a 2.19 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 28 strikeouts over 49.1 innings last season with Las Vegas, but will likely face a steep hill to earn a 25-man roster spot.
