      Pirates ink six players to minor league deals

      The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Pirates signed the following players to minor league contracts: first baseman Travis Ishikawa, starting pitcher Kyle McPherson and relievers Daniel Schlereth, Adam Wilk, Brandon Mann and Elvin Ramirez. Ishikawa, McPherson, Schlereth and Wilk received invites to spring training.

      Elvin Ramirez clears waivers, optioned to Triple-A

      Angels relief pitcher Elvin Ramirez has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake, according to MLB.com. The move cleared a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster. Ramirez has given up nine earned runs in eight innings at Triple-A this season while walking 15 batters and striking out four. He has a 10.13 ERA and 3.13 WHIP through eight appearances.

      Angels acquire pitcher Elvin Ramirez from Mets

      The Los Angeles Angels have acquired RHP Elvin Ramirez from the Mets for cash, according to the Los Angeles Times. Ramirez, 25, allowed two earned runs in 3 2/3 innings of Grapefruit League action, striking out five. He made 20 appearances for the Mets in 2012, walking 20 batters and striking out 22 in 21 1/3 innings while posting a 5.48 ERA.

      Mets reassign prospects

      The Mets reassigned 10 players to minor-league camp Sunday, which included a few of their top prospects. Among the group of cuts included Zack Wheeler, Hansel Robles, Reese Havens and Cesar Puello. Also reassigned were Darin Gorski, Gonzalez Germen, Collin McHugh, Elvin Ramirez, Wilfredo Tovar and Juan Lagares.
