    The Mariners have placed reliever Joe Beimel on the disabled list with arm fatigue and promoted fellow left-hander Rob Rasmussen from Triple-A Tacoma, per the Tacoma News-Tribune. Beimel has complained about the ailment lately - and he has evidence to prove it. He has allowed an outrageous 10 earned runs and five home runs over his last 1 2/3 innings to send his ERA soaring from 2.50 to 4.78. Rasmussen was just sent down by Seattle on Monday after compiling an awful 14.09 ERA.

    An overworked bullpen has motivated the Mariners to promote left-handed reliever Edgar Olmos from Triple-A Tacoma and send fellow reliever Rob Rasmussen to the same team, MLB.com has reported.     The Mariners have recalled pitchers Rob Rasmussen and Jose Ramirez from Triple-A on Friday. T Rasmussen, who was acquired from the Blue Jays for Mark Lowe, made one appearance for the Jays this season, after seeing 10 games in relief last year. He did go 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA with the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate this season. Ramirez came to the Mariners from the Yankees in the Dustin Ackley deal on Thursday. He made three relief appearances for the Yankees this year, allowing five runs in three innings.

    Mariners snag two Rookie League hurlers in Lowe deal

    Rookie League pitchers Nick Wells and Jake Brentz are two of the three players heading from the Blue Jays to the Mariners in the deal that sent reliever Mark Lowe to Toronto, per CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. The other is reliever Rob Rasmussen, who has limited major league experience. Neither Rookie League pitcher has performed particularly well this season. Wells, a third-round pick in 2014, has a 4.78 ERA in seven starts. Brentz, who was taken in the 11th round in 2013, has allowed nine runs in his last 11 innings pitched and has a 4.09 ERA on the year. Rasmussen has pitched in relief in 11 major league games, but just one this season. He owns a 2.92 career ERA.
