      White Sox send eight down

      Southpaw Charlie Leesman headlines a group of eight White Sox demoted to the minors on Wednesday. He was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte after appearing in eight games and starting one with Chicago in 2013. Outfielders Trayce Thompson and Jared Mitchell were sent to Double-A Birmingham while catcher Miguel Gonzalez, pitchers Deunte Heath , Omar Poveda and Scott Snodgrass and outfielder Keenyn Walker were reassigned to minor league camp.

      Duente Heath banished to Charlotte

      Right-hander Duente Heath has been outrighted by the White Sox to Triple-A Charlotte to make room for newcomer Mitchell Boggs. Heath will be a non-roster spring training invitee. The 28-year-old Heath pitched just 7 2/3 innings last season with a bloated 11.74 ERA.

      The White Sox have optioned reliever Deunte Heath to Triple-A Charlotte following Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Twins. Heath allowed three runs in a two-inning relief appearance Wednesday against the Twins. He 11.74 ERA and a 2.61 WHIP in five appearances in the majors.
