Chris Schwinden could get the call

The Mets need another starter for next Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals, and they may dip into their Triple-A rotation for an option. According to the New York Post, the Mets are considering veteran Chris Schwinden for the start, rather than turning to a younger, more highly regarded prospect. According to the report, Schwinden would be added to the 40-man roster prior to the start, but would likely be designated for assignment afterwards. He is 4-8 with a 5.70 ERA in 19 starts at Triple-A.
