      Donald Lutz: Re-signs with Reds

      Lutz (elbow) re-signed with the Reds on a minor league contract that does not include an invitation to big-league camp at spring training, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. The 26-year-old Lutz hasn't had much success in his big-league stints and also struggled at Triple-A Louisville the past few years. After missing most of 2015 with an elbow injury, he'll likely be back at Louisville to start the 2016 season.

Mijares surrendered three earned runs on 5 1/3 innings this spring. The team sent catcher Tucker Barnhart, shortstop Eugenio Suarez and first baseman Donald Lutz to Triple-A Lousville Monday. All three saw action in the majors last season. First baseman Josh Satin and catcher Chad Wallach were re-assigned to minor-league camp.
