    Mendonca moved behind the plate

The Rangers are working with prospect Tommy Mendonca on a position change this offseason, according to ESPN.com. After playing 297 games in the minors at third base, Mendonca will enter this season as a catcher. Blocked by Adrian Beltre as well as fellow prospect Mike Olt at third base, the Rangers are hoping that Mendonca can reach the majors more quickly as a catcher. In 2011, Mendonca hit .278 with 25 home runs at Double-A Frisco.
