Rays SP Erasmo Ramirez gives up four runs in no-decision

Rays starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez allowed four runs on 10 hits, walking one and striking out three over 5 1/3 innings, and came away with a no-decision against Toronto on Friday night. He carried a 4-1 lead heading into the sixth inning, but he retired just one hitter as he and the bullpen allowed four runs before the inning ended. Ramirez ends the season 11-6, with a respectable 3.75 ERA over 34 games (27 starts), so he should have done enough to have his name on the short list of rotation options next spring.

Rays SP Erasmo Ramirez turns in strong effort in win over Red Sox

Rays starter Erasmo Ramirez (11-6) sparkled in Thursday's win over the Red Sox, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out six in seven innings After a two-run homer by David Ortiz in the first inning, Ramirez absolutely shut things down, making the Red Sox the third consecutive AL East team that he's dominated, following strong starts against the Yankees and Orioles. He's not star material, but Ramirez has broken out as a very credible pitcher who's capable of going on red-hot runs. His final start of the year will come against the Marlins next week.

Rays' Erasmo Ramirez flirts with no-no, but gets no-decision instead

Still, Ramirez allowed just that one hit and a walk over 7 2/3 scoreless innings. He recorded six punchouts, but was ultimately left with a no-decision after the Yankees rallied in the ninth to capture the 4-1 win. Rays' Erasmo Ramirez escapes shaky start with no-decision Saturday

Rays starter Erasmo Ramirez pitched better on Saturday than his final line would seem to suggest. Ramirez went seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits against the A's. He walked two and struck out four and he did not factor in the final decision. Ramirez allowed a solo home run to Mark Canha in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. He settled in after that, throwing up zeroes over the next three innings. But he allowed three runs to score in the sixth, including a two-run shot by Josh Phegley. Ramirez was taken off the hook however, as the Rays rallied for two runs in the ninth to steal the 5-4 victory.

Rays SP Erasmo Ramirez blanks Braves in win on Tuesday

Rays right-hander Erasmo Ramirez was brilliant in his start against the Braves on Tuesday. Ramirez tossed seven-plus innings of shutout ball, scattering five hits while walking none and striking out four. He led the way to the 2-0 victory, his ninth win of the season. Ramirez (9-4) lowered his ERA to 3.59 with the strong outing. He set down 16 batters in a row at one point, and did a good job of keeping the Braves off of the basepaths for the most part. He was lifted with just 70 pitches after allowing a lead-off single in the eighth inning. This was a good bounceback effort for Ramirez, who was roughed up for five runs over six innings in his previous start. After Tuesday's outing, Ramirez has allowed one or fewer earned runs in eight of his past 10 starts.
