The Red Sox and pitcher Michael Olmsted have agreed to a minor-league deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports. Olmsted was released by the Brewers on Monday. He gave up one earned run on two hits and one walk while striking out one in 1 1/3 innings over two appearances with Milwaukee this spring.

The Brewers announced Monday they released pitcher Michael Olmsted, who was a non-roster invitee trying to make the team as a reliever. "We've talked about it -- we're pretty deep in Double-A and Triple-A," manager Ron Roenicke said, per MLB.com. "For him to get an opportunity, we thought now was a better time rather than putting him on the minor-league side and doing it later."
