      Seven players outrighted by Marlins

      The Marlins outrighted the following players Monday: pitchers Kevin Slowey, Jose Ceda, Steven Ames and Zach Phillips, catcher Koyie Hill, first baseman Joe Mahoney and infielder Gil Velazquez . Each of the players played some portion of the 2013 season with the Marlins, except for Ceda, who continued to recover from Tommy John surgery.

      Steven Ames sent to Triple-A

      The Marlins sent pitcher Steven Ames to Triple-A New Orleans. The 25-year-old pitcher appeared in four games for the big league club this season and had a 4.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. His numbers down in Triple-A weren't much better. Ames will look to win a spot in the Miami bullpen next season.

      Steve Ames optioned to Triple-A

      Marlins pitcher Steven Ames was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans after Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Royals. He has allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four in four innings over the course of four appearances. A corresponding roster move will be made Thursday.

      Steven Ames set for Miami debut

      The Marlins recalled reliever Steven Ames from Triple-A New Orleans Sunday after placing reliever Kevin Slowey on the disabled list. Ames was acquired from the Dodgers as part of the Ricky Nolasco trade. Ames tossed seven scoreless innings for New Orleans since his acquisiton. He allowed one walk and four hits, while striking out five.

      Dodgers acquire Ricky Nolasco from Marlins

      The Dodgers and Marlins have completed a deal that will sent starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco to Los Angeles for pitching prospects Steven Ames, Josh Wall and Angel Sanchez, according to Dodgers are expected to absorb the remaining $5.5 million on Nolasco's deal. The right-hander went 5-8 with a 3.85 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 112 1/3 innings with the Marlins this season. The California native will become a free agent after the season.
