Victor Roache homers in first pro at-bat

Brewers outfield prospect Victor Roache became the second-to-last position player from the first round of the 2012 draft to make his pro debut when he suited up for Class A Wisconsin Sunday. The 28th overall pick in last year's draft made it a memorable performance. Roache clubbed a two-run homer in his first at-bat. He finished 1 for 3 with one walk, two strikeouts and two runs. "That felt really good. I had a little butterflies, but mainly I wanted to go up there and just get the bat on the ball, hopefully drive one," he told "Thankfully it got up and got out of here." Roache, who led the NCAA with 30 home runs for Georgia Southern in 2011, broke his left wrist last February and Sunday was the first time since his injury he returned to the field in a competitive situation. "It was a very long process, long and slow, total of seven months recovery and rehab," Roache said. "I was ready to go in spring training, swinging the bat well. And then my hamstring kind of tightened up on me the last couple days and I went to extended spring training just to make sure it was 100 percent."
