Brewers' Chase Anderson: Traded to Brewers

Anderson was traded to the Brewers on Saturday in a five-player deal, ESPN's Keith Law reports. Perhaps the Brewers see something with Anderson that they think they can improve, but at the very least he will be a capable innings eater while their young pitchers continue to develop. He had a 4.30 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 152.2 innings with Arizona last year, and will see a downgrade in defense and run support in Milwaukee.

Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson settles for no-decision

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Chase Anderson took a no-decision after 5 1/3 innings of work in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Rockies. He allowed one earned run over four hits and three walks, while striking out four. Anderson settled down after allowing a DJ LeMahieu sacrifice fly in the second inning, limiting the Rockies to just one run in his final start of the season. While he managed to improve his walk rate considerably from last season, Anderson's dreadful second half and paltry 6.54 K/9 leaves little reason to think he'll have mixed-league value in 2016.

Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson strikes out 10 in loss

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Chase Anderson struck out ten Wednesday night, giving up one earned run on one hit while walking two in a 4-1 loss to the Dodgers. Anderson took a tough luck no-decision after a terrific outing -- retiring 18 of 20 hitters after giving up a leadoff home run to Chase Utley. Despite putting up eight runs in each of the first two games of this series against the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks offense could only muster one run of support for the right-hander. If nothing else, Wednesday's outing will secure Anderson's rotation spot through the season.

D-Backs to start pitcher Chase Anderson on Wednesday

Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson will receive the start Wednesday against the Dodgers, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. Anderson was temporarily dropped from the rotation after giving up five runs over two innings back on a Sept. 8 against the Giants, but starter Rubby De La Rosa's struggles versus the Dodgers this season will result in manager Chip Hale granting Anderson another opportunity. The right-hander has been pummeled in eight second-half starts, producing a 6.08 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 40 frames.

Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson throws simulated game Friday

Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson threw a four-inning simulated game on Friday and could make a start next week, reports Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. Anderson said that he is working on a cutter in his side work, which could diversify his repertoire. He threw his sim game on the same day that teammate Rubby De La Rosa took his regular turn, which could offer a tip about when Anderson would make his next start as manager Chip Hale previously suggested that De La Rosa may not make his next start against the Dodgers, against whom he has struggled. If Anderson does face the Dodgers, it won't be an easy assignment, but it will be on the road in a more pitcher friendly ballpark than Chase Field.

Diamondbacks P Chase Anderson to have next start skipped

Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson will have at least his next start skipped as the team seeks to give him a rest, per Chip Hale stated that it could happen again down the stretch. "Probably skipping a little more than one start," he said. "We're looking at next week on the road we're going to start him. But he's in the bullpen right now. I think maybe Chase needed a little break." Anderson, who is up to 141 1/3 innings on the year, struggled in his last outing, allowing five runs in two innings to San Francisco.

Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson solid in victory

Diamondbacks starter Chase Anderson, who was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday, made his case to stay in the big leagues with a solid start Sunday in the team's win over the Reds. Anderson went 6 2/3 innings for his sixth victory of the season, scattering five hits while allowing zero runs. It's a far cry from his last start, when he allowed seven runs on nine hits in a loss on Aug. 18. Anderson lowered his ERA to 4.28 with the victory.
