Rays' Corey Dickerson: Traded to Rays on Thursday

Dickerson was traded to the Rays on Thursday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. After signing Gerardo Parra, the Rockies were expected to move one of their outfielders for some pitching, and that's exactly what they did. Dickerson was sent to the Rays in exchange for pitcher Jake McGee and some minor leaguers. This move could impact the 26-year-old in a few ways, most notably being that he won't be hitting in the hitter-friendly Coors Field any longer. There also may be a concern of Dickerson's health, given that the turf in Tropicana Field isn't the most forgiving surface in the league. Those issues aside, the Rays are getting a solid young left-handed hitter, as Dickerson batted .304 with 10 home runs with the Rockies last season.

Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson homers in season finale

Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson finished the 2015 season in style Sunday, hitting a three-run homer in the Rockies' win over the Giants. After a breakout 2014 campaign, repeated bouts with plantar fasciitis along with a case of broken ribs limited Dickerson to just 65 games this season. Even so, there's plenty of reason to be optimistic for Dickerson's prospects heading into the upcoming season. In his 224 at-bats in 2015, Dickerson still finished with a .304 average and .869 OPS, marks highly comparable to what he posted in those categories in 2014. With a little better luck on the health front, Dickerson shouldn't have trouble reaching the 20-homer plateau while making a run at 100 RBI.

Rockies' Corey Dickerson finishes a triply shy of the cycle Friday

Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson went 3 for 4 with a homer, a double, three RBI and two runs in Friday's win over the Dodgers. Dickerson has missed much of 2015 with foot and rib injuries, but has been highly productive when healthy. Since returning to the lineup on Sept. 8, Dickerson has hit .333 with three homers, eight RBI and eight runs. Given his health issues, he may be available in some leagues and could be worth a late-season pickup.

Rockies OF Corey Dickerson collects three hits in Wednesday's loss

Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson went 3 for 5 with a home run, double, and two RBI in Wednesday's 13-7 loss to the Pirates. Dickerson hasn't missed a beat since returning from the disabled list Sept. 8, as he's slashed a respectable .282/.333/.538 over his last 13 games. The Rockies have been giving him more frequent days off in September than earlier in the year, but it's hard to fault the team for their reluctance to use him given how banged up he's been throughout the season. With a full offseason to recover from the plantar fasciitis issue that has dogged him throughout the season, Dickerson should enter spring training at full health.

Rockies hold outfielder Corey Dickerson out of Wednesday's lineup

Rockies OF Corey Dickerson is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers. Dickerson played 16 innings in the field over the past two days, so he'll get Wednesday off to limit the risk of re-injury on his problematic foot. This should be considered a regular day-off, and he is listed as available to pinch-hit against the Dodgers. Kyle Parker will replace him in left field.

"As a player, you never want to go into an offseason as a rehab player," Weiss said. "It's always a lot better approaching the offseason having played."

Rib injury lands Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson on DL

It is his third stint on the DL this season. "To do as well as I was and still having injuries and playing through them, it stinks because I had high hopes for this season," Dickerson said. "But I can't control that. All I can do is try to be better, try to control what I can control, and do better when I'm back in there." Dickerson added that it was too early to tell when he could return.
