      Reds first baseman Adam Duvall had to leave Tuesday's game after suffering a left knee contusion, reports Duvall was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning, but stayed in the game until the sixth. He is considered day to day.

      The Reds recalled infielder/outfielder Adam Duvall from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. He was part of the trade that sent Mike Leake to the Giants on July 29. Duvall hit .189 with four doubles, four home runs and seven RBI in 25 games with Louisville.

      Andrew Susac among Giants' spring cuts Sunday

      The Giants optioned catcher Andrew Susac, first baseman Adam Duvall, pitcher Hunter Strickland and outfielders Gary Brown and Juan Perez to Triple-A Sacramento Sunday. Susac was the favorite to open the season as the team's No. 2 catcher behind Buster Posey, but Hector Sanchez won the competition, leaving Susac to open the season as the team's starter in Triple-A. The Giants also reassigned catcher Guillermo Quiroz, second baseman Brandon Hicks and pitchers Brett Bochy, Steven Okert and Juan Gutierrez to minor-league camp.

      Giants mull using Belt, Duffy, Duvall in outfield

      Giants manager Bruce Bochy said having first baseman Brandon Belt play in the outfield is "currently being discussed" as Hunter Pence is nursing a broken arm and Angel Pagan is dealing with a sore back, per "I'm down, for sure. I'm here to do whatever they need me to do," Belt said. "If they want me to go the outfield, I'm ready to do it. If they want me to go on the mound and pitch, I'm ready to do that." Bochy also said Matt Duffy and Adam Duvall could be options to play in the outfield as well. "We have coverage. It's going to be up to us to decide which way we're going to go," Bochy said. "A lot depends on where we're at with Angel before I jump to any conclusions."

      Giants add Travis Ishikawa, Juan Perez

      The Giants announced several roster moves Tuesday, with first baseman Travis Ishikawa and outfielder Juan Perez joining the team from Triple-A Fresno. To make room for the two batters, the team has designated second baseman Tony Abreu for assignment and optioned first baseman Adam Duvall. Ishikawa hit .206/.263/.382 in 34 at-bats with the Pirates before being released in April. The Giants picked him up a few days later, and he has hit .271/.349/.446 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI in 240 at-bats with Fresno. Perez has had a few stints with the Giants this season, hitting .156/.208/.267 in 45 at-bats. He has performed much better with Fresno, hitting .333/.397/.496 with three home runs, 17 RBI and seven stolen bases in 117 at-bats.

      The Giants announced Monday they placed first baseman Brandon Belt on the 7-day disabled list due to a concussion. Infielder Adam Duvall was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to take Belt's roster spot.

      Adam Duvall sent down Thursday

      The Giants optioned first baseman Adam Duvall back to Triple-A Fresno following Thursday's game against the Cardinals. The move was made in order to free up a roster spot for the return of Brandon Belt from the disabled list. Duvall went 1 for 4 Thursday an ended up hitting .167/.167/.389 in 18 at-bats with the Giants.
