      Giants place Mike Leake on DL; recall Josh Osich from Triple-A

      The Giants placed starting pitcher Mike Leake on the 15-day disabled and recalled pitcher Josh Osich from Triple-A on Friday, the team announced. Leake was scratched from his start on Friday because of a left hamstring strain. His stint on the disabled list will be retroactive to Aug. 3. In 7 1/3 innings with the Giants this season, Osich hasn't allowed any runs while picking up six strikeouts.

      Giants option RP Jake Osich to Triple-A

      The Giants optioned left-hander Josh Osich to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday. Osich was sent down to clear space on the roster for Jeremy Affeldt, who is returning from the disabled list. Osich made nine relief appearances in his first taste of the big leagues. He thre 7 1/3 scoreless innings.

      Giants promote Josh Osich, demote Mike Broadway in RP swap

      A week after promoting right-handed reliever Mike Broadway from Triple-A Sacramento, the Giants have demoted him and brought up southpaw Josh Osich from the same team, per the San Francisco Chronicle. Broadway struggled after a decent start with San Francisco. He allowed three runs on five hits in his last 5 1/3 innings. Osich, who pitched just twice for Sacramento after his promotion from Double-A, has been tearing it up. He has 19 saves in 20 chances and has surrendered just one run in his last 13 innings.
