Dodgers pitcher Mike Bolsinger will start Wednesday vs. Giants

Dodgers pitcher Mike Bolsinger will make his next start Wednesday in San Francisco, True Blue LA's Eric Stephen reports. Considering he's allowed seven home runs in his last 17 innings, it's best to look elsewhere if you need to stream a starting pitcher. Bolsinger will need a lights-out performance to receive consideration for the playoff roster.

Dodgers' Mike Bolsinger touched up for trio of home runs in loss

Dodgers starter Mike Bolsinger (6-5) was roughed up for four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings in Friday's loss to Colorado. Bolsinger served up three homers on Friday and has now surrendered seven dingers in 17 innings since being called up from Triple-A on Sept. 4. His penchant for giving up homers, coupled with a heinous 1.94 WHIP over the same four-start stretch makes him toxic as the season comes to a close.

Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger fades in fourth for no-decision

The Dodgers won big at Arizona on Saturday. But they did not have starter Mike Bolsinger to thank for it. Bolsinger was knocked out in the fourth inning. He surrendered three runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings with four walks and a strikeout. His struggles began in earnest in the fourth after his team had staked him to a 7-0 lead. A walk, two singles and sacrifice fly scored one, then a single, sacrifice fly, double and walk motivated his departure. The no-decision was his sixth in his last nine starts.

Dodgers' Bolsinger starting Friday to give rotation an extra day of rest

Dodgers pitcher Mike Bolsinger will start Friday's game against the Padres, manager Don Mattingly announced after Wednesday's game against the Giants. "We've been wanting to slip him into the rotation to either move somebody forward or to give someone an extra day," Mattingly said, per MLB.com. "Just if somebody needs a blow, kind of looking at all our guys individually and what's best for them." Mattingly said they don't plan to skip anyone in the rotation, so all the starters (Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Brett Anderson, Alex Wood and Mat Latos) will get an extra day of rest moving forward. Bolsinger's last MLB start was July 29. He is 5-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 16 starts this season. "You can anticipate he's going to be in this rotation for at least a turn," Mattingly said.

Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger goes five innings in impromptu start

Thrown into the start at the last minute, Dodgers right-hander Mike Bolsinger pitched reasonably well against the A's. Bolsinger allowed two runs on eight hits over five innings. He walked three and struck out three, needing 90 pitches (57 strikes) to get through the fifth. Bolsinger would not factor in the decision however, as the Dodgers won the game 10-7 in the late innings. Bolsinger left the game leading 3-2, but the bullpen allowed four runs to score in the seventh. The Dodgers would counter with five in their half of the inning, en route to the victory. Bolsinger finishes the month of July with a 1-1 record and a 3.00 ERA in five starts.
