Clint Coulter may not stay at catcher

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers catcher prospect Clint Coulter will get a look at third base and the outfield in the instructional league this fall after playing more games at designated hitter (64) than catcher (61) in 2014. He hit .287 with 22 home runs, a .410 on-base percentage and a .930 OPS for low Class A Wisconsin. "Right now, I'm a catcher," Coulter said. "I'm comfortable wherever they stick me. I just want to get to the big leagues."

Brewers catcher prospect Clint Coulter was demoted from Class A Wisconsin to rookie-level Helena Sunday, but it was not a demotion, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Brewers amateur scouting director Bruce Seid said it was planned for the 2012 first-round pick (27th) to start the year at Wisconsin before joining short-season Helena. Coulter was always expected to play for Helena, but the Brewers made the decision to have the 19-year-old prospect start at Wisconsin instead of beginning the year in extended spring training. Milwaukee felt it was the right move, even if Coulter struggled, which he did. He hit .207 with three home runs and 13 RBI in 33 games before being sidelined with an oblique strain. Coulter had a promising debut in 2012, batting .302 with five home runs and 33 RBI in 49 games in the Arizona Rookie League. Coulter is considered the Brewers' ninth-best prospect by
