Red Sox's Pat Light: Had issue with tipping pitches

Light battled issues with tipping pitches in 2015, reports. Light was recently added to the 40-man roster as his mid-to-high 90's fastball is far too intriguing to expose to the Rule 5 draft. Telegraphing pitches is fixable. Light, who will open the season at Triple-A Pawtucket, is currently pitching for Caguas in the Puerto Rican Winter League. He has a 2.25 ERA in 8.0 innings, having allowed two runs, six hits and three walks while striking out eight.

Red Sox's Pat Light: Added to 40-man roster

Light was added to the 40-man roster Friday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports. The move comes as expected, as the Red Sox were planning to add the 24-year-old to the 40-man roster before the Rule 5 draft. Light earned his first promotion to Triple-A in 2015, but struggled at the level to the tune of a 5.18 ERA with 26 walks in 33 innings.

Red Sox to add pitcher Pat Light to 40-man roster

The Red Sox are expected to add pitcher Pat Light to the 40-man roster next month, the Boston Herald reports. Light was converted from a starter to reliever in 2015 and had some encouraging results, particularly at Double-A Portland before experiencing some command issues against Triple-A competition. Light has a high-velocity fastball, something the Red Sox could use in their bullpen, and figures to be part of the late-inning mix at some point.
