The 25-year-old pitched four shutout innings before getting pulled in the fifth against his former team. Tropeano racked up a high pitch count in his short outing, throwing 97 pitches in under five innings. The issue of longevity has plagued Tropeano this season, as he hasn't exceeded six innings in any of his six big league starts.

Tropeano induced eight swinging strikes in 83 pitches to power his five strikeouts. Green has gone back and forth between the big-leagues and Triple-A this year, as this will be his fourth stint with the Angels in 2015. Green is in the starting lineup on Saturday, as he will be at second base and bat ninth against the Blue Jays. To clear room on the roster, Nick Tropeano--who started on Friday--has been optioned back to Triple-A.

      Angels' Nick Tropeano gets rocked by White Sox in loss Thursday

      Angels starter Nick Tropeano was roughed up by the White Sox on Thursday. Making his third start of the season, the rookie right-hander allowed six runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out three, throwing 57 of his 85 pitches for strikes in the 8-2 loss. Tropeano (1-2) saw his ERA spike up from 3.00 to 5.51 after Thursday's rough outing. He allowed a run in the first inning, but then settled in for the next couple of frames. The wheels came off in the fifth however, as he allowed five runs to score, and the South Siders never looked back. This was just Tropeano's third appearance all season. After throwing six innings of shutout ball in his first start back on April 23, the youngster has really struggled in his latest two outings.
