      Astros recall OF Preston Tucker from Triple-A on Wednesday

      The Astros have recalled outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Fresno. Tucker was sent down back on Aug. 22 after struggling at the plate for much of August. But he went 4 for 4 with a home run and two RBI on Sunday for Fresno, and hit .303 in the eight games since his demotion. He's in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners. He'll be in left field, batting seventh for manager A.J. Hinch.

      Astros send struggling OF Preston Tucker to Triple-A

      Astros outfielder Preston Tucker has been optioned to Triple-A Fresno following Saturday's win over the Dodgers. Tucker has really been struggling lately, as he owns a .147 average with eight strikeouts over his past nine games. The demotion of the rookie was needed to make room on the roster for Lance McCullers, who is being called up to start Sunday's game. Tucker will likely return to the team when the rosters expand on September 1.

      Astros OF Preston Tucker back in the lineup on Friday

      Astros outfielder Preston Tucker has returned to the starting lineup for Friday's contest against the A's. Tucker hasn't started since leaving Tuesday's game after getting hit by a pitch in his arm. He did enter Thursday's game as a late-inning defensive replacement however, and it appears his arm has healed enough to get him back in the lineup on Friday. Tucker is batting .265 with 10 home runs in 70 games this season. He will be in left field and bat seventh on Friday.

He remained in the game, going 1 for 2 in his next two times up. He also made two plays in the field before leaving for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning.

      Astros OF Preston Tucker keeps rolling with solo HR on Friday

      Left fielder Preston Tucker gave the Astros all the offense they would need, as he went deep for his ninth home run of the season in the 4-0 win over the Royals. Tucker's solo blast put the Astros up 1-0 in the third inning. Starter Scott Kazmir and the Astros' bullpen did the rest, shutting out the Royals in this one. Tucker also doubled and scored twice, finishing the game 3 for 4. The rookie outfielder is batting .333 with four home runs in his past seven games, which includes a pair of three-hit performances.

      Astros left fielder Preston Tucker continued to hit his homers in bunches Wednesday against Boston. Tucker has blasted off three times in the last two games to give him eight on the season.
